Smylez

Izerrick “Smylez” Aigbokhan (July 25, 1992 – October 27, 2016) was a rapper, producer, and audio engineer from Chicago, Illinois. He was a pioneering force in the city’s Drill Music scene and a member of the 069 Brick Squad, a faction of the Gangster Disciples, located near 69th and Eggleston. Smylez's gritty beats and street-conscious lyrics helped define the early Drill era, and his influence continues to shape the genre to this day.

Musical Career and Style


Smylez stood out not only as a rapper but also as one of the most accomplished producers in Chicago's Drill movement. His production was known for heavy 808s, eerie melodies, and aggressive drum patterns. Smylez produced for many local stars and was deeply respected for his ability to elevate underground street anthems into viral hits.
