Lil Jeff (#99), born Jeffrey Morgan, was a promising rapper hailing from Chicago, Illinois. His burgeoning career was tragically cut short on Mother's Day, May 12, 2013, during a house party. As a key member of the rap group Fly Boy Gang (FBG), which included his twin brother Lil Jay, Lil Jeff had started to make a name for himself. His mixtape, 'Count up 4 a Purpose,' showcased his potential, and the track 'Turn Down For What' featuring Ayoo Kd was gaining traction.
Lil Jeff Gang Affiliation
Lil Jeff, alongside his brother, belonged to the Insane Gangster Disciples set known as STL, often referred to as Tooka Gang. This group was frequently targeted in disses by rival Black Disciple rappers like Chief Keef and Lil Durk. The animosity was mutual, with Lil Jeff and his associates responding through their music, asserting their own identity with claims such as 'BDK'.
Lil Jeff Shot
The fateful event occurred at a house party on the 600 block of Sibley Street, where Lil Jeff was fatally shot multiple times, dying at the scene. With over 50 people present, another attendee—a family acquaintance—was also shot but survived. When approached by the police to press charges, he simply declined, stating, “I don’t have time for that.”
Lil Jeff's Killer
The perpetrator of Lil Jeff's murder remains unidentified. Speculation suggests the attack stemmed from ongoing gang conflicts between Tooka and a nearby East Hammond, Indiana group known as 'Lil Haiti,' recognized for its Zoe Pound members. Lil Jeff's provocative track, “F*ck East Haiti,” and Lil Jay's song “RIP Lil Jeff(Go Insane)” further fueled these assumptions, hinting at a violent feud between the factions.
