Honey Cocaine

Honey Cocaine, born Sochitta Sal, hails from Cambodia but relocated with her family to Toronto, Canada, in pursuit of a better life. The transition was challenging as she had to learn English from scratch. Despite these hurdles, she rose to prominence as an American rapper, eventually signing with Tyga's 'Last Kings' label after catching attention on YouTube. Her stage name, Honey Cocaine, symbolically represents her music as 'sweet and addictive,' with 'honey' denoting sweetness and 'cocaine' signifying addiction.

From the tender age of six, Honey Cocaine was penning poetry, which evolved into rap as her command of English improved. By age 11, she was already recording tracks in studios, showcasing her precocious talent.

Honey Cocaine Shot

On March 19, 2012, Honey Cocaine experienced a harrowing incident while performing with Tyga in Omaha, Nebraska. As the concert concluded, some attendees began hurling objects on stage, provoking Tyga's ire. The situation escalated when, after leaving the venue, Tyga's tour bus was trailed by a sedan, leading to gunfire that injured two individuals, including Honey Cocaine, who was shot in the arm. Fortunately, she and Derrick Lowe, who was grazed in the hip, both recovered fully.

Family

Honey Cocaine often describes herself as a 'daddy’s girl,' having grown up with six brothers. After relocating to Canada, her father's improved job prospects allowed the family to settle into a better home, where she was given the master bedroom, highlighting her cherished status within the family.

Freddy E

There was speculation about Honey Cocaine's relationship with Freddy E, although she clarified that they were merely friends. Their friendship began after meeting at a Seattle show. Despite Freddy E’s interest in deepening their relationship, Honey Cocaine preferred to focus on her career, citing both long-distance challenges and professional priorities. Tragically, in January 2013, Freddy E committed suicide, sparking unfounded rumors linking his death to their friendship. Honey Cocaine has dismissed these claims as ignorant, emphasizing the complexities of their bond that outsiders failed to understand.

Music Career

Honey Cocaine's music resonates with the younger crowd, mirroring Tyga's style. Her discography boasts several mixtapes such as “Fuck Yo Feelings Vol. 1,” “90’s Gold,” and “Thug Love.” Notable tracks include “ChiChi Get The Yayo,” “Love Coca (Love Sosa),” “Bad Gal,” “Runaway Bride,” and “All Gold Everything,” which have contributed to her growing popularity in the music industry.
