Boss Top-Rapper

Boss Top, born Tyree Davis, is an emerging rapper hailing from Chicago, Illinois. He is part of the drill music movement—a genre that vividly portrays the gritty realities of street life. This musical style is shared by other notable Chicago artists like Chief Keef and Lil Durk. Often, Boss Top tags 'Oblock' to his name, signifying his affiliation with the Black Disciples gang. 'Oblock' is a moniker for one of their territories, named in memory of their fallen member, Odee Perry.

Boss Top has released several tracks, with standout songs including “Hell Naw,” “Awe Sh*t,” “30 Choppaz,” and “All My N*ggas.” On December 27, 2013, Fredo Santana announced via Instagram that Boss Top had officially joined his label, Savage Squad Records, which features artists like SD, Cdai, and Gino Marley.

Boss Top's life in the music and gang scenes is fraught with rivalry and conflict. As a member of the Black Disciples from O-Block, he is embroiled in ongoing disputes with various Chicago gangs. He often becomes the target of diss tracks, such as “Expose,” where rival rapper Billionaire Black threatens him with the line, “Catch Boss Top coming out of O’Block, red beam n*gga open up yo top.” In the same track, FBG Duck challenges Boss Top's claims about violence in rival territories.

In addition to external conflicts, Boss Top has clashed with fellow O-Block artist Chief Keef. The two have exchanged hostile remarks on Twitter multiple times. Chief Keef has even accused Boss Top and other Black Disciples members of burglarizing his home, alleging they stole clothing and jewelry.
