Tooka’s death would later become a topic of discussion due to the rise of Chicago’s drill music, in which rappers, many of them current gang members, openly talk about their criminal activities while dissing rival gangs. One of the more popular artists out of the drill scene is rapper and Black Disciples member Chief Keef, whom dissed “Tooka Gang” in his song titled “3Hunna”. In “3Hunna” Chief Keef says “F*ck a Tooka gang b*tch, I'm 3hunna”, the diss did not sit well with tooka gang members. Rappers who are in Tooka Gang such as Lil Jay, made multiple songs dissing Chief Keef and the Black Disciples.
The war between the Black Disciples and the Gangster Disciples show no signs of slowing down, many talented rappers from both sides have seen their end come as a result of the war, such as Lil JoJo from the 069Bricksquad set of the GDs, and L’A Capone from the 600 set of the Black Disciples.
The criminals responsible for Tooka’s death were never apprehended, but according to those familiar with the gangs in Chicago, Tooka was murdered by members of TYMB, a Black Disciples rival set.
While spitting a freestyle, Young MA mentioned Tooka a way which was taken as a diss by his fellow gang members. In the freestyle, Young MA rapped "I smoke hookah like it’s Tooka blowing jet clouds/And I only get high to bring the stress down.” Smoking Tooka is a diss used by enemies of STL (Tooka Gang). Following Young MA's diss, rapper and STL gang member FBG Duck demanded an apology.
