On November 21, 2014, Boom was fatally shot in what many believe to have been an accident. According to Authorities, Boom was hanging out at Paris D. Walker-Rush's place along with another friend. At some point during the hangout, Walker-Rush brought out a .40-caliber Glock semi-automatic handgun for Boom to look at. When Boom was done checking out the gun, he handed it back to Walker-Rush, whom then proceeded to point it at Boom's head right before it accidentally went off. Boom was 24 years old at the time of his death.
Paris D. Walker-Rush was later charged with involuntary manslaughter and unlawful use of a weapon for the fatal shooting which took place in the 5200 block of South Cornell Avenue.
