Devonte “Tayski” Childress

Devonte Childress whom went by the nickname Tayski (Taytay), was a member of the 300 set of the Black Disciples gang in the South Side of Chicago, Illinois. He died on July 8, 2011 as a result of gunshot wounds sustained on July 6, 2011, during a drive-by shooting. Another individual, an unidentified 15 year old, was also shot in the attack but survived.

As some members of the Black Disciples became famous rap stars, their videos often pay homage to fallen comrades. In some of Durk-Rap Artist" class="wiki wikinew text-danger tips">Lil Durk's videos, close friends of Devonte "Tayski" Childress can be seen wearing shirts with his name.

Though Taski is honored by his fellow Black Disciples members in rap songs, he is often the subject of disses by rival gangs. Lil Marc, an 051 Young Money member, referenced Tayski in his Competition song by saying "Tayski pack".

Who Killed Devonte "Tayski" Childress

In 2014, 2 individuals, Antoine Reynolds and Marlon Boyce,were charged for the murder of Devonte Childress. Prosecutors claim Antoine Reynolds, 28, of the 5600 block of South Shields, fired an assault rifle toward a crowd in the 6100 block of South Normal, while the driver, Marlon Boyce, 27, fired a handgun.
